The Cliks

The Cliks are ready to release their new album Dirty King on June 23rd of this year. Sitting crammed into the humid basement of Mercury Lounge in Manhattan's Lower East, Canadian band mates Lucas Silveira (vocalist/guitarist), Jen Benton (bass), and Morgan Doctor (drums) talked about touring, the buzz around Dirty King, and Canada (of which they are very proud). I had photographed Lucas once before with Cyndi Lauper before last year's True Colors Tour, so you can imagine my surprise when Cyndi showed up to the show and even got on stage to sing.

The Presets, La Roux, and Larry Tee

This Friday I photographed Larry Tee, La Roux and The Presets.

For those of you who do not know Larry Tee, he is the innovator behind the Elector-Clash movement. He's a DJ, a promoter and a producer who helped artists like the Scissor Sisters, Fischerspooner, and Peaches get their start. He's also had lots to say about drug-induced days his NYC party, Love Machine, being BFF's with RuPaul, and co-writing Ru's famous song “Supermodel (You Better Work)”.

Here is Larry with DJ Roxy Cottontail and electro-pop performer Mel Merio. They were all so fun to photograph.

Elly of the UK-based Electo-Pop band La Roux is a quiet, unassuming 21 year old. She is also ridiculously talented and has pretty fantastic hair.

My fave video of hers.

One thing that stood out to me about the crazy talented duo The Presets was that they are ridiculously funny. I mean, really, they made me laugh, like, a lot.

Love this song and this video.

Saw their concert after the shoot. Their whole sound and performance was polished and dancey and crazy fun.

Here are Jules and Kim in all of their glory.
